Racing Etiquette:

Here are some tips to aid in making sure we have accurate and timely results:

1)      Pin your Race Number on the front of your body. Do not pin it on your back

2)      Don’t pin the pull tag big hole on the Race Number. The pull tag hole is used to place the numbers in order of finish on the stringer.

3)      After running through the finish line shoot, please do not go through the shoot a second time when running another runner to the finish. This will cause the timers to count you twice.

4)      If you are a bandit (don’t register but run the course), please do not go through the finish line shoot. Again this will cause the race results to be off.

By following these simple instructions, it will make the race a pleasurable experience for all participants.

Martin County Half Marathon

The Sailfish Striders are working with the Martin County Parks and Recreation Department to move the Martin County ½ Marathon to October and run it on a new course. The Board and the Parks and Recreation Department have agreed to relocate the course to Hutchinson Island. The posted map is a tentative Route for the ½ marathon. In the next couple of months we will finalize the course. We would run over both causeways and get a beautiful view of the Indian River. This new route will showcase what Martin County has to offer. The Board and the County is very excited about the new course and date. This new date will allow those training for fall and winter marathons to have a good ½ marathon race for their training. Let us know what you think?
